WavMan 11.x Beta Update

This WavMan beta update removes what I consider the last of the big issues from WavMan, which will warrant releasing it as "gold master" by next week. :)

If you are one of our avid testers...here is a list of things to try out to see how they work:

1) Delete, Edit and Add entries to the Wav Descriptions Editor.

2) Create some styles for Hugs and FancyWavs with the "Exclude" option UNCHECKED. This is so the styles have no custom colors and can be faded via the chat fader.

3) Use WavMan while Uploading or Downloading a file. There may be some slowness, but the program should no longer freeze.

IMs Plus 2.x - GOLD MASTER!

You heard it here first! IMs Plus 2.x for AOL 8.0 has gone gold master. We took the "Theme Aware" Engine from WavMan, finalized it and put it in IMs Plus so that it will match with whatever AOL theme you are using!

With so many new features and redesigns? I just cannot list them all here it once. I highly recommend you check them out for yourself.

To answer the questions of many customers who have been writing: When are WavMan and IMs Plus going to be out of Beta?

Here is the official word: I do not impose deadlines upon myself. I tried doing that once, and the result was a period of buggy versions of WavMan and Messenger Plus. This in turn created a lot of support mails which slowed me down a bit. Since then, I discontinued deadlines. I found if I work at my own pace...things get done right. That said, WavMan and IMs Plus have been in Beta longer than either you or I would like. IMs Plus will done here in the next few days as I have finally ironed out the last few issues that were stalling the program. As for WavMan, I am still working out the issue in which WavMan slows down or "freezes" when uploading a file while chatting. I know why it's occurring and it's being fixed. After that it will go through one more beta version and then it's going gold.

This is the best timeline I can give at the moment. If something happens which changes this "plan", I will post about it right away. :)

Sometimes AOL, in their infinite wisdom, makes changes to their software. Sometimes they affect our programs, but mostly they do not. A few weeks ago, AOL did something to the UK version of AOL 7.0 which required my attention. WavMan 10.x was affected. Unfortunately, this put other projects on hold for a few days. Our UK customers are just as important as our US customers. The issue was addressed and a new version of WavMan 10.x was made available to fix the change.

Remember folks, although there are several people assisting with support and registration, there is only one programmer...me. :)
