March 2003

  FYI
  Sunday, March 23, 2003 @ 1:32PM EST by:  Kevin
Sometime on Sunday morning, this web site and several others that are hosted on this server were defaced with vulgar "antiwar" messages. Interland, the people who host this web site have since put in place a "patch" so that this defacement will not happen again.

My apologies to anyone who was offended by this defacement. It was an action that was not only unintentional, but beyond our control. It was removed and fixed within minutes of being notified about it. My thanks to all those who wrote in to let myself and our support volunteers know about the trouble.

As a side note, understand that we store NO customer information on this server. The breach did not compromise anything except the index page of this site. Such sensitive information is stored offline and cannot be hacked.

May whatever higher power you believe in bless everyone and our troops in combat. May they all come home safely.

Wavman & AOL's New Message Boards
  Tuesday, March 11, 2003 @ 11:36PM EST by:  Kevin
With AOL rolling out those new message boards without any fore warning, it did knock my development time back by some days. Not to worry, I am done making the fixes and will have another Beta ready to test before the week is over.

Another cool fix included a complete rewrite of the "incoming window process" which will put an end to all "freeze" problems with incoming IMS while mail is open, and or uploading. I've been playing with the new format for weeks and it's very smooth now. I can't wait to give it out to everybody!!

Lastly, I hope to be able to put together the TPA WebLog before too long, so that I can post these little updates as they happen instead of waiting days to update this index page.

  Ad Buster Updated
  Tuesday, March 11, 2003 @ 11:31PM EST by:  Kevin
After almost a whole year, our freebie toy, AdBuster has been updated to work with AOL 8.0. Plus a new feature was added. Those of you who use AOL's message board system have no doubt noticed that some changes have been made. Each message board now has a big, fat, blinking ad at the top of each window. Annoying at best. Ad Buster will now take care of this for you. No more flashing ads while reading your message boards! Woo hoo!

So, if you are tired of those constant AOL ads, and you're willing to pay nothing for it then you've come to the right place.

Visit the Ad Buster Home Page today to get all the pertinent information and downloads you'll need.

Enjoy!
