Installing Terminator: T-32

The instructions on this page assumes you have already downloaded the setup file for Terminator and have located it through Windows Explorer.

  For Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
  1. With the Terminator setup located (tpa_tm19.exe), double-click on it to begin the installation.
  2. You will be welcomed by the setup program and prompted that no other instances of Terminator be running.  This is absolutely necessary.  If you have another copy of Terminator currently running, please use ALT+TAB to switch to it and exit it before continuing.  Click Next
  3. Setup will now display the standard disclaimer.  Please read it thoroughly.  If you agree, click Next, if not, click Cancel.
  4. Select Destination Directory: The default folder location for Terminator's installation is C:\Program Files\Terminator32. We highly recommend keeping this setting.  However, if you are installing a second copy of Terminator onto your computer, you would want to change the location of the Terminator folder here.  To do so, click Browse and select a new location.  Click Next.
  5. Backup Replaced Files: If you would like to backup and files that may be replaced during the installation, click Yes, otherwise click No.   By default, setup will create a folder in your Terminator folder called Backup.   The backed-up files will be move here.  Click Next.
  6. You will now be prompted the setup is ready to install Terminator onto your computer!  Click Next.
  7. Sit back and wait while setup installs Terminator.  When it has finished you will be prompted as to whether or not you would like a desktop icon for Terminator placed on your desktop.  Click Yes if you would like one, otherwise, click No.
  8. You will now be prompted that the installation is complete. Click Finish.
  9. You will more than likely be prompted to restart your computer.  If prompted to do so, then do *not* skip this step.  It is very important in the case of replaced runtime files.  To skip this step could potentially cause system errors causing you to restart anyway!  Click OK.

Once your have restarted your computer, Terminator will need to be started. You can do this before or after starting AOL.  Terminator will *not* automatically start with AOL. If you start Terminator before starting AOL, it will start AOL for you! :)

To start Terminator, do the following:

Click Start in the taskbar, select Programs, select TPA Software, select T-32 and then click on the Terminator icon.
